PDRMMO: 79 Macabebe residents can’t go home as houses still flooded
Some 24 families from Macabebe town in Pampanga province are still in evacuation centers as of Saturday despite improving weather.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the 79 individuals are staying in four different evacuation centers in the province as their houses were still under floodwater.
The families are residents of Barangays Sta. Lutgarda, Sta. Cruz, San Vicente and Sto. Rosario, four of the 20 villages that remain submerged after back-to-back weather disturbances.
Aside from Macabebe town, some areas of Apalit, Candaba, San Simon and Masantol are still underwater, according to the PDRRMO.
Parts of the Apalit-Macabebe-Masantol road, San Simon-Baliwag Road and Candaba-San Miguel Road are barely passable to light vehicles because of floodwater, while the Minalin-Macabebe section of the Sto. Tomas-Minalin Road is not yet passable to light vehicles.
