Pampanga VG Dennis Pineda gives out medical kits, cash assistance to 550 schools

In line with its disaster preparedness efforts, the Pampanga provincial government has distributed medical kits and P550,000 cash assistance to 550 school district coordinators Monday, November 28.

Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis Pineda said the distribution is part of the disaster risk reduction management plans of the provincial government and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Council in partnership with the Department of Education Pampanga Division.

Provincial Disaster Risk Response Management officer Angelina Blanco said the move is one of the programs of the Pineda administration to allow public schools to take part on the disaster risk reduction management.

She added there will be series of capacity building, training and seminars intended for district coordinators to improve preparedness and response before, during and after any cases of disaster.

“The involvement of our teachers play a crucial role in the community as they are also responsible for the safety of the children in school. Hence, they should be equipped with medical kits and they should also be equipped with knowledge on disaster operation,” Blanco stressed.
