Pampanga taps 2 hotels to serve mild Covid-19 cases
The Pampanga provincial government has rented two hotels in San Fernando City to serve as isolation facilities for Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms to reduce pressure on overwhelmed hospitals.
According to a Punto Central Luzon report, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda ordered that the hotels be set up like hospitals with every air-conditioned room equipped with hospital beds, an oxygen tank, a dextrose holder, and a bathroom.
The report did not disclose which hotels were tapped by the provincial government.
Doctors and nurses shall also be on call 24/7, while a portable X-ray machine is on hand, the governor said in the report.
Dr. Dax Tidula, head of the Pampanga Covid-19 Isolation Facilities, was quoted as saying that each room would be accommodating three patients belonging to the same households.
At present, the bulk of critical care beds at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital and private hospitals are occupied by patients with moderate to severe Covid-19 symptoms, according to Pineda.
