Pampanga seniors reminded they can go out of house to buy food or work
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda has reminded his elderly constituents that they are allowed to go out of their residence if they need to buy essential goods like food or if they’re going to work in an authorized industry during the lockdown.
“Ito po ang order ng DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) na pinapayagan ang mga senior citizens na lumabas ng bahay KUNG sila ay may bibilhin o may ipapagawa na importante, at kung sila ay nagtatrabaho pa,” he said.
But Pineda said it would still be best if the senior citizens simply asked other members of the household to go out for essential goods or services.
“Kung ako po ang jnyong tatanungin, mag-utos na lang po kayo. Iwasan po ninyo na mahawa kayo ng virus na sanhi ng Covid-19,” he said.
The governor shared the DILG’s August 17 memorandum circular, which states that “older persons may go out of their residences and enter commercial establishments for purposes of obtaining essential goods and services and for work (in permitted industries including those in the informal setting) in all areas under ECQ, MECQ, GCQ and MGCQ.”
