Pampanga Gov Pineda spearheads gift-giving event for province’s PWDs
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda on Wednesday, December 28, spearheaded the distribution of financial assistance and food packages to 3,964 persons with disabilities (PWDs) residing in the province’s four districts.
This took place at the Lubao Gymnasium and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando City.
The lady politico also reminded the beneficiaries that they are exempted from the payment of 12 percent value added tax (VAT) on certain goods and services following the implementation of the Malasakit Law or Republic Act No. 10754, an Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of Persons with Disability..
The Pampanga governor also thanked the caregivers of the PWDs for their care and dedication.
According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Elizabeth Baybayan, the distribution of financial assistance is part of the regular program of the PSWDO intended for the PWDs while the distribution of goods is part of the Christmas gift of the provincial government.
