Pampanga foundation organizes medical mission for indigents

The Kapampangan Development Foundation hosted a medical mission for indigent residents at the Jose A. Datu Medical Center (JADMC) in Bacolor town in Pampanga province, officials said.

The groups provided free medical examinations and minor surgeries, according to a Sun Star Pampanga report.

The event was made possible with the support of the Rotary Club of Mabalacat and Arellano University, the report said.

The event was initiated in honor of the medical center’s namesake, the late Dr. Jose A. Datu.

The JADMC was built by the family of Jesus Datu as a memorial for their father, who wanted his family to build a hospital dedicated to the poor families of Pampanga, according to the report.

The Love for Life Foundation, a non-profit, US-based NGO, owns the JADMC.

The Datu Angeles David Memorial Foundation (DADMFI), comprising the Datu, Angeles, and David families of Pampanga, owns the land where the hospital was built, the report added.

The JADMC is the primary vehicle for the KDF in implementing its health program.

The event was attended by Archbishop Emritus Paciano Aniceto who led the thanksgiving mass for the event, the report said.

Bacolor Mayor Edurado Diman Datu, who is among supporters of the KDF programs, also graced the activity, according to the Sun Star report.
