Over 2000 local and international guests are expected to participate in the first Kapampangan Food Festival in Clark Freeport’s Fontana Hot Spring Leisure Parks on Thursday, marking the 446th founding anniversary of the province.
The mega food fest will showcase the best “lutong barrio” cuisine of at least 19 municipalities and two cities in Pampanga.
Famous Kapampangan chefs Sau del Rosario, Claude Tayag, Howard Dizon, Lourdes Castro, Judy Uson and Chloe Ann Caugiran, among others will also feature their culinary talents.
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda on Wednesday led the opening of festivities and activities at the provincial capitol.
The weeklong-celebration in Pampanga kicked off with a thanksgiving mass and a flag-raising ceremony at the Arnedo Park Capitol Grounds. The Department of Labor and Employment also awarded grants to 4,943 local beneficiaries.
According to Pineda, the celebration will center on Kapampangan tradition, food and culture, which aim to uphold the province’s pride and honor.
