The Pampanga provincial government handed over financial assistance to each of the families of the rescuers, known as “Fallen 5” of the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) who died in the line of duty during the onslaught of Super Typhoon “Karding.”
Led by Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Pampanga officials distributed P100,000 in financial aid to each of their families on Friday.
Last September 25, the Bulacan rescuers died after a wall collapsed on them while they were conducting rescue operations in San Miguel town. They were identified as Goerge Agustin, Troy Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurrection, and Narciso Calayag Jr.
Pineda extended his sympathy to their families, noting that five will be remembered for their bravery and heroism they have done to save lives.
