Palace vows justice for murder of Nueva Ecija mayor
Malacanang assured Tuesday that justice will be served for the murder of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Palace is confident that Philippine National Police Chief, Director-General Oscar Albayalde, would be able to conduct a fair and thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We assure everyone that we would discharge the state obligation for every murder. We will spare no effort in getting to the bottom of this latest violent crime,” he said.
Roque also expressed deep condolences to Bote’s family.
The Nueva Ecija mayor was shot dead Tuesday afternoon while on board his vehicle in Cabanatuan City by an unidentified assailant.
He was murdered a day after Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili was also killed by a sniper during a flag-raising ceremony in front of the City Hall.
