Palace: Resolution of Nueva Ecija priest’s murder top priority

Jun 11, 2018 @ 12:04

Malacanang vowed Monday justice for slain priest in Nueva Ecija.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured that the resolution of the murder of Fr. Richmond Nilo will be a top priority of the government.

“Kinokondena po natin iyang pagpatay dito sa pari na taga Nueva Ecija,” he said in a press briefing.

The spokesman did not see any connection between Nilo’s death and that of President Rodrigo Duterte’s criticisms against the Catholic Church.

“Hindi naman po ‘no. I don’t think there is any empirical basis for that ‘no.

Unidentified suspects killed Nilo, parish priest of Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija, at around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, inside the chapel of Barangay Mayamot in the same municipality when he was about to celebrate a mass.
