Palace cites benefits of Bulakenyos from Bulo irrigation project
Malacanang welcomed Monday the groundbreaking ceremony of an irrigation project in Bulacan.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in his regular news briefing that the P990.37-million Bulo Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (Bulo SRIP) in Doña Remedios Trinidad is expected to benefit farmers and address flooding in the province.
“Ngayon po ay may solusyon na sa pagbaha at sa patubig,” he said.
He said the project is expected to benefit around 500 local farmers.
Bulo SRIP will cover 35 hectares of agricultural lands at Kalawakan in Doña Remedios Trinidad and another 535 hectares at Malibay, San Miguel, Roque said.
The project will be the catch basin area for 20 barangays in Bulacan to prevent flash floods and it will serve as development site for inland fish culture, he added.
