P3.5B sports training facility to rise in 250K sqm land in Bagac
The Bataan provincial government on Tuesday formally turned over a 250,000 square meter parcel of land it donated to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for the construction of the Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC) could start in Bagac town in Bataan.
“Bataan will become a sports city and it will inspire the out of school youth as it will provide a new home to national athletes as they give pride and honor to the country,” PSC Chairperson William Ramirez said during the ceremonial signing of deed of donation.
In his message, Bataan Rep. Jose Enrique Garcia III said PSTC aims to help in the sports development of the country to have better chances of winning medals in the Olympics and other international competitions.
“We are glad that PSC chose Bataan to be the home of PSTC and we will do our best to be a good host to our athletes,” he said.
Bataan Governor Albert Garcia said the construction of PSTC not only helps future athletes but it will also promote healthy lifestyle leading to longer life expectancy.
A total of P3.5 billion was initially earmarked for the facility and will be completed by December 2025.
