The Bureau of Internal Revenue district office based in San Fernando City in Pampanga is urging all online businesses earning income through digital means in Central Luzon to get registered with their respective revenue district offices.

In a Sun Star Pampanga report, BIR Regional Director Douglas Rufino said the region “has been making headway in encouraging online businesses to register.”

Some 1,060 online businesses are already registered with the district office, according to the report.

In the report, Rufino said nine Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators from Tarlac, Olongapo, and Subic Bay Freeport have registered with the office.

He added that 11 service providers online are now registered, based on BIR figures.

The tax agency also urged online businesses to declare and pay taxes on past taxable transactions, without penalty, if declaration and payment are made on time.
