Orani board member treats town residents on his birthday
Orani town board member Benjie Serrano chose to spend his birthday by giving back to his constituents.
On Sunday, Serrano conducted a medical and dental mission for residents of the town under his “Handog Kaarawan BM Benjie C. Serrano Jr. Libreng Gamutan 2018”.
The joint medical and dental mission was held at the covered court of Orani North Elementary School.
Around 2,000 Orani residents received free medical services; 800 received free dental services; 300 got free haircut and 500 received free reading glasses.
Children and senior citizens also received gifts during the event; 100 children received slippers while 50 senior citizens received clothes.
It has been a yearly tradition for Serrano, a three-term mayor of this town, to share his blessings to the less fortunate members of his town.
“I have been doing this medical and dental mission during my birthday for my constituents since 1993 when I was SK Orani Federation president,” Serrano said.
The medical and dental mission was in partnership with Caloocan Filipino Chinese Charity Clinic, the Rotary Club of Caloocan Central, and Inner Wheel Club Caloocan Central.
