Nueva Ecija university eyes 1st public med school in Central Luzon
The president of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) in Cabanatuan City discussed the possibility of establishing Central Luzon’s first public school of medicine with Senator Joel Villanueva during the latter’s visit on Friday.
According to a Punto Central Luzon report, the senator talked about the envisioned College of Medicine with NEUST president Fely Jacoba and other officials.
“Kung may isang state college o university sa Pililinas o sa Region 3 ay yung NEUST, mukhang hinog na hinog na upang magkaroon ng sariling college of medicine,” Villanueva was quoted as saying in the report.
He noted that NEUST was close to the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center.
At least ten regions in the Philippines, including Central Luzon, have no public medical school of their own, according to Villanueva.
