Nueva Ecija town court closed after 2 employees die of COVID-19
The municipal trial court of (MTC) of Carrangalan in Nueva Ecija has been ordered closed after after two employees caught the COVID-19 virus including one who died, the Supreme Court (SC) said on Monday (Sept. 28).
The SC Public Information Office (SCPIO) said in its latest Twitter post the MTC has been ordered “physically closed from September 22 to October 6, 2020.”
The SCPIO said that Presiding Judge Marjorie Marnan-Dempsey made the decision after “a personnel who died from Covid-19 on September 17, 2020” and “another personnel who tested positive of said virus on September 21, 2020.”
“The personnel are strictly ordered to stay home unless there is extreme necessity to leave their residences,” she instructed.
“Whoever is experiencing symptoms is likewise encouraged to report it to the Clerk of Court or to the MHO (Municipal Health Office) for medical assistance,” the judge advised.
During this period, the magistrate said “the office is still functional to attend to the needs of the public” and “the personnel are directed to work from home during this period.”
