Nueva Ecija to focus on barangays with high Covid-19 transmission rates
The provincial government of Nueva Ecija is focusing its attention on barangays that continue to register new cases of Covid-19, Nueva Ecija Governor Aurelio Umali said.
According to the governor, the provincial government wants to strengthen coordination with barangays, particularly through its Barangay Health Emergency Response Team or BHERT, a report from the Philippine Information Agency said.
Umali said this will be done in coordination with municipalities and cities to ensure the barangays are regularly disinfecting their areas and observing protocols.
In San Jose City, for instance, there are already 16 barangays with Covid-19 cases with most of the cases in Barangay Abar 1st, which has a large population of 18,000 to 20,000, according to the PIA report.
In Cabanatuan City, 63 of its 89 barangays have registered Covid-19 cases.
As of September 30, there are 595 confirmed cases in Nueva Ecija and 25 deaths.
