Nueva Ecija police have set up 13 border checkpoints to monitor and enforce mobility restrictions in the province due to the surge in Covid-19 infections.

According to a report in Punto Central Luzon, Region 3 police director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon and Nueva Ecija police chief Col. Jaime Santos recommended the border controls in response to the rise in cases in the province.

The provincial police also set up 20 quarantine control points within Nueva Ecija, the report added.

All but two of Nueva Ecija cities and municipalities have recorded at least one active case of Covid-19, according to the report.

Cabanatuan City topped the list with 55 active cases, followed by Gapan City with 42.
