Nueva Ecija police put up 34 community pantries
All stations of the Nueva Ecija police have set up 34 community pantries in their jurisdictions to assist struggling households in the province.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jaime Santos said in a Punto Central Luzon report that the activity was “aimed to mitigate the effects of the pandemic by providing and giving basic food provisions such as rice, vegetables, and groceries to the residents of Nueva Ecija.”
The report said several individuals and organizations donated basic goods and essentials to the community pantries.
The Nueva Ecija police chief said the project was not political in nature.
“Your PNP is here showing you our bayanihan spirit by giving and sharing. With God’s grace and mercy, we shall all overcome this pandemic,” Santos said.
