No lockdown in Tarlac province, officials say
No lockdown will be declared in Tarlac, the provincial government announced on Wednesday, denying the contents of a falsified statement.
“The provincial inter-agency task force and the governor will not declare any lockdown,” according to an official post by the provincial government.
Tarlac officials made the clarification in response to a statement falsely attributed to Tarlac Governor Susan Yap about the supposed lockdown.
The governor was wrongly quoted as saying a new lockdown would be imposed on the province from March 18 to April 18.
“There will be an executive order to be posted as soon as possible for Tarlaqueños to better understand and be informed of some protocols to be implemented to combat the dreaded Covid-19 virus,” the official post read in part.
