New Bataan capitol building to serve as haven for BPOs, investors

Bataan residents will soon experience state-of-the-art facilities in the new capitol building.
The new building, which will be called “The Bunker”, will feature high-speed internet and cheaper power rates for government offices and call centers.
The seven-story building will be the first of its kind in the country, featuring a secured compound with guards and closed circuit televisions, uninterrupted power supply, business one-stop shop, and national government agencies.
“This will be the Philippines’ first one-stop shop that will connect all agencies from national to local to facilitate business permits and all other documents needed by our investors and businessmen,” Governor Albert Garcia said.
The Bunker will also provide sites for business process outsourcing centers, hotel, auditorium, multi-use facilities, park, restaurants and parking spaces.
The 6800-square meter land will be divided into two sections: five floors will be used by the provincial government, while two floors will be allotted for commercial and other public offices.
Surrounding “The Bunker” are sites for business process outsourcing centers, hotel, auditorium, multi-use facilities, park, restaurants and parking spaces.
The provincial government hopes to finish the project this year, as Governor Albert Garcia tries to achieve the province’s goal of attaining top-level human development index in the Philippines by 2020.
