Mega drug rehab center in Nueva Ecija now accepts Covid-19 patients
A China-donated mega-drug rehabilitation facility in Nueva Ecija is now catering to Covid-19 patients who are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.
According to a Philippine News Agency report, the Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) located inside Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija has a 400-bed capacity and is now dedicated to serving Covid-19 positive persons.
Its medical chief, Dr. Nelson Dancel, said the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) was being run by the Bureau of Quarantine.
“Para sa mga Covid positive talaga ‘yun,” Dancel was quoted as saying in the report.
But at present, the facility only has 90 patients, including soldiers, he said.
While the DATRC is under the Department of Health, the TTMF has separate staff, Dancel added.
