Mayor Torres returns to municipal hall, slams ‘bayabas’ politics
Guagua Mayor Dante Torres returned to the municipal hall Monday (July 3) after serving his second suspension of one month and a day over grave misconduct.
Complainant Juan Pring filed before the Office of the Ombudsman a complaint for grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty against Torres for signing a marriage certificate which he did not officiate.
The Ombudsman previously slapped Torres a three-month administrative suspension for simple misconduct.
The Pampanga politiko said the complaint was a case of “bayabas” politics.
“Malungkot ako hindi dahil sa suspension pero naudlot ang projects para sa bayan. Ito kasi, personalan na. Me kaso pa, okay lang, huwag lang corruption dahil walang corruption sa Guagua. I have always advocated for good governance,” Torres said.
