Mayor Torres: Poultry in Guagua free from bird flu
Guagua Mayor Dante Torres on August 21 urged the public to continue patronizing poultry suppliers in the municipality despite the bird flu outbreak in San Luis.
The Pampanga politiko said poultry and poultry products in Guagua are free from bird flu.
He said poultry in Guagua are sourced from suppliers not affected by the bird flu outbreak.
Torres, himself, ate cooked chicken bought from the Guagua Public Market to show that it is safe to eat.
“Some of the sellers merely get a small income from consignment. Imagine having to cut their regular supply. Some sell a couple of chickens which is very different before the outbreak when sales were brisk,” Torres said.
