San Fernando City Mayor Edwin Santiago and and several bus companies have agreed to use the latter’s rescue equipment and vehicles for emergency response during calamities.

The Pampanga politiko and representatives from Victory Liner Inc, Genesis Transport Company Inc, and Bataan Transit Inc signed the agreement in line with National Disaster Consciousness Month.

The agreement allows the city government to use the bus companies’ emergency response vehicles, tow trucks, rescue equipment, and buses during calamities.

It also allows buses to carry more passengers during evacuation.

“We must get involved with these kinds of activities to develop our disaster preparedness skills. Disasters can happen any time that may affect us in many ways. It is really important that we should be knowledgeable and ready to face it,” Santiago said.
