Pilar Mayor Alice Pizarro predicts a more robust tourism industry in the municipality by 2020.

This after several land developers and property leasing management firms committed to invest in the newly-created Mount Samat Shrine Tourism Enterprise Zone.

The new tourism hub is expected to enhance Pilar and Mount Samat’s potential as the premier historical and tourism spot in Central Luzon.

Pizarro said the expansion of businesses in Pilar is slowly making the municipality an ideal business hub as well as a major tourist destination.

“It is now the appropriate time to assess and reflect the momentous heroic sacrifices and values of Filipino soldiers atop Mount Samat from a different angle not only as a place to enjoy the scenic spots of Manila Bay, verdant ricefields and mountain ranges of the Peninsula, but also of Pampanga and Cavite provinces, however, the town of Pilar is an ideal place to do business as well,” Pizarro said.
