Mayor Kokoy Salvador explains why kolorum tricycle drivers should not be tolerated
San Jose City Mayor Kokoy Salvador wants to clear things out.
He is not putting too much pressure on tricycle drivers; he just wants to ensure the welfare of all. The mayor personally joined the joint operations of the local government and the police to stop kolorum tricycle drivers from operating.
First, it’s unfair for TODA drivers who have the proper papers and are earning the same.
Second, safety of the commuting population must be ensured and kolorum drivers don’t have an insurance if an emergency happens. They are not listed so it would also be hard to track down if a tricycle driver, say, did a crime to the commuter. Also, most of the kolorum drivers don’t have a driver’s license.
Let’s bw fair and objective; this is all for the betterment of the city according to Mayor Salvador.
