Mayor Donya Tesoro promotes sustainable gardening for self-sufficiency during and after ECQ

May 4, 2020 @ 17:04

San Manuel Mayor Donya Tesoro is hoping everyone have been keeping notes on sustainable lifestyle this enhanced community quarantine.

The mayor believes that old backyard gardening has once again proven that it is key to self-sufficiency and food security. “We have been encouraging our households to do so even before the pandemic to lessen hunger and malnutrition. That is why we built Greenhouses as a learning center for students and as a seedling-producing facility to encourage modern farming as well. We’ve been continuously distributing seeds from the DA and DOH before and during ECQ. Y’all should learn, too! 👌🏻,” Mayor Tesoro wrote in her Instagram caption.

She attributed this practice from her Dad who have taught her since she was a little girl that someday this will all be useful.
