Mayor Cayabyab inaugurates monitoring central station
Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab led the inauguration of the municipality’s new Monitoring Central Station (MCS) in Barangay Sta. Catalina last May 10.
The MCS was established by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-3 (BFAR-3) to monitor illegal fishing activities in Manila Bay and provinces in Central Luzon.
BFAR funded the construction of the MCS amounting to P600,000.
BFAR Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz said another MCS has been built in Masantol where fisherfolk can spend the night.
The MCS is also used as the office of the fishery livelihood development technician.
