Masinloc politikos welcome senatorial aspirant Harry Roque

Dec 12, 2018 @ 9:18

Local politikos of Masinloc, Zambales received on Tuesday former Presidential spokesman Harry Roque who is eyeing a Senate seat in the May 2019 polls.

The local government’s Facebook account “Serbisyon Potog non Masinloc” showed photos of Roque, accompanied by his wife, together with Masinloc Mayor Arsenia Lim and other officials.

“Siya ay sinalubong ng mga magsasaka, mangingisda, samahan ng Solo Parents, Senior Citizens, estudyante, at iba’t ibang sektor ng ating bayan,” the Facebook post said.

Roque is no stranger to Masinloc, having helped local fishermen there file a complaint against China for depriving them of their livelihood at the Scarborough Shoal when he was still a known human rights lawyer.

“Dito, makikitang masayang masaya ang ating mga kababayan sa kanyang pagdalaw upang kahit paano ay maipaabot sa kanya ang pasasalamat sa lahat ng tulong na ibinigay niya sa ating bayan,” the Facebook post said.

The local government, without any elaboration, credited Roque for facilitating the granting of some permits from the national government.

Roque resigned as spokesman of President Rodrigo Duterte last October to pursue his political plans.(END)
