Masantol Mayor Danilo Guintu is determined to promote ecotourism activities in their town in Pampanga.

This week, the local government unit (LGU) started planting 500 bamboo trees on the vacant lot next to Tarik Suliman High School in Sagrada village. These trees will be the foundation of the proposed bamboo hub and ecopark in the village.

The project also marks the start of the LGU’s “greener environment campaign.”

“This aims to beautify this place with full grown bamboos in the next few years which hopefully can become an eco-park perfectly connected to our next tourism projects. More tree planting will follow for sure,” Guintu said in a Facebook post.

Guintu said bamboo propagation helps protect the environment and has economic benefits.
