Mariveles town’s Covid-19 infection rate going down
Officials have noted a downward trend in infection rates in Mariveles town in September, after logging the highest number of new cases in Bataan province in previous months.
The number of active cases in the industrial town went down continuously from 1,236 on September 2 to 176 on September 23, according to a report in Punto Central Luzon.
The report said Mariveles is home to more than 90 multinational firms with more than 40,000 workers. Of the 29 vaccination centers in Bataan, seven are in the town.
In past months, the town was considered an epicenter of Covid-19 in Bataan, logging the highest number of active Covid-19 cases.
Mariveles is now in seventh place, overtaken by Dinalupihan, Balanga City, Limay, Morong, Orani and Hermosa, according to the report.
