SM City Tarlac recently celebrated the season of giving by distributing a total of 500 SM Bears of Joy to a local children’s home.
Apostolate Directress Sr. Leoncia Mateo, O.P, received the toys on behalf of the St. Joseph Home for Special Children Inc.
In a news release, the nun expressed her gratitude to the mall for its generous donation and stated that the bears will be shared with the home’s partner organizations.
She also highlighted that toys and bears are great therapy for children, most especially for the ones who could not speak or see.
Aside from the toys, SM City Tarlac also donated cash to the children’s home.
The mall has an ongoing holiday countdown campaign, which they started last year, that features local products in the mall in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry-Tarlac.
A portion of the profit from this project goes to their chosen beneficiary.
The SM Bears of Joy project, which started in 2012, is an annual campaign of the mall to help children in need.
The mall’s holiday countdown campaign is now in its second year and it is a way for the mall to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of children.
