292 Macabebe residents stuck in evacuation centers
Some 88 families in low-lying Macabebe town in Pampanga province have yet to return to their homes as water continues to flow from upstream.
According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the families, composed of 292 persons, are still staying in various evacuation centers in the municipality/
At present, there are 11 different elementary schools, daycare centers and barangay facilities being used as evacuation centers.
The affected residents come from barangays near water such as Castuli, Candelaria and Saplad David.
Residents fear that Macabebe will remain submerged due to floodwater continuing to flow from higher areas.
