Mabalacat uses telemedicine in strategy vs Covid-19
The local government of Mabalacat City will be using telemedicine as part of its overall strategy to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said the novel approach would be part of the city’s newly-launched Covid-19 Response Integrated System in response to the resurgence of the coronavirus.
Telemedicine, in which patients may consult doctors on the phone, online or through other electronic means, will be part of the city’s Home Care Package, officials said.
“The HCP, including the operation of isolation, infirmary and quarantine facilities, will be directly supervised by renowned neurosurgeon and Covid-19 operation specialist Dr. Jay Rivera who was recently tapped by the city government,” Garbo said.
Rivera said the telemedicine program would help doctors monitor the state of patients without risky contact.
The city government’s strategy also involves acquiring more vaccines and more testing kits.
“This will further boost current programs to ensure the health and safety of every Mabalaqueño,” Garbo said.
