Mabalacat gives amnesty to delinquent taxpayers

To urge more taxpayers to settle their overdue payments on real property tax without hesitation, Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and the Mabalacat city government have found a way to encourage their constituents to pay up.

Mabalacat City Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod have signed City Ordinance 3 Series of 2022 or Real Property Tax Amnesty.

The new ordinance will disregard the penalties, interests and surcharges on delinquent properties from 2021 and prior years.

Properties that are taxable under the law include land, buildings, improvements of the land/building and machinery.

Garbo said he believes this would allow his fellow taxpayers to pay their taxes on time and lessen the burden of those who have failed to settle their duties.

“Through this ordinance, buri talang a dinang paralan reng kabalen tamu na makapamayad amilyar na ali mabayat karela” added the local chief.

The payment period will run from October 01 to December 31, 2022. Requirements include Real Property Tax Amnesty Availment form, photocopy of identification card of declared owner and requesting party as well as a copy of Tax Declaration or Last Real Property Tax receipt.

Real Property Tax is one of the locally sourced revenues, which are used to fund the local government unit’s services and programs.
