Mabalacat cops launches outreach programs for needy
The Mabalacat City police have launched outreach programs to underscore the importance of social responsibility during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The city police donated sacks of rice, groceries, toiletries and school supplies at the Duyan Ni Maria Children’s Home in Barangay Dapdap, officials said.
Lieutenant Colonel Soledad Elefanio, city police chief, said this was part of their outreach program.
“As law enforcers, we have a social responsibility to share blessings and help those who are in need,” Elefanio said.
She urged the private sector and businessmen in the city to lend a helping hand to the needy.
“We also appeal to all kind-hearted and well-meaning kababayans to help provide for the less fortunate or most vulnerable sectors in the community in order to sustain our Barangayanihan [project] in Mabalacat City,” he said.
During their visit, local cops implemented minimum health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo lauded the city police under Elefanio’s leadership for helping the community, especially during these hard times.
