Leadership in Norzagaray, Bulacan takes another shake-up
The leadership in the municipality of Norzagaray, Bulacan took another shake-up Friday after elected mayor Alfredo Germar was reinstated to the position.
Germar’s return to the post came after the Supreme Court recently reversed an Ombudsman decision that found him guilty of grave misconduct and dismissed him from the service for hiring six consultants in 2013 and paid them salaries without approval of the municipal council.
On Friday, Geronimo Cristobal, Jr., the elected vice mayor of Norzagaray who assumed the mayoralty post two years ago upon Germar’s dismissal, wrote on his Facebook page: “Simula ngayong a raw, November 23, 2018, ay malugod at mababang loob kong tinanggap ang ORDER OF REINSTATEMENT bilang VICE MAYOR.”
Cristobal said he is grateful to those who supported his programs and projects while he was at the helm of the municipal government.
“Hangad ko ang KAPAYAPAAN at PAGKAKAISA sa ating mahal na bayan,” he said.
Cristobal is vying for the mayoralty post in next year’s elections.
