Lazatin to Covid-19 patients: Don’t stay home, use quarantine facilities
In a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 among residents, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. urged patients who tested positive for the virus to use the city’s isolation or quarantine facilities instead of staying home.
“The city still has enough space to accommodate them. Naiintindihan po natin ang kanilang mga pangangailangan kaya tinututukan natin silang mabuti,” the mayor said in a statement.
Under Memorandum 816, series of 2021, Lazatin ordered all private hospitals and medical professionals in the city to encourage Covid-19 patients to submit themselves to the care of designated quarantine facilities.
These include the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, as well as hotels designated as quarantine facilities.
“Home quarantine is not allowed, except for special conditions and circumstances that will be determined by medical practitioners of RLMMC. It is the sole discretion of the city government, through the CHO, to release Covid-19 patients for home quarantine following assessment at the RLMMC,” according to the memo.
“These said facilities are being strictly monitored by medical health care professionals providing adequate and proper accommodations for Covid-19 patients in the city,” Lazatin said.
