Kapampangan student bags 1st prize in poster contest on consumer rights
A student from the city of San Fernando earned Pampanga its third consecutive win in the Consumer Welfare Month Regional Poster Making Contest for his piece about consumer rights in the digital age.
Mark Jerome Vidal, a Grade 10 student in San Juan High School, bested the representatives of six other provinces in Central Luzon.
He took home the P20,000 cash prize and P5,000 worth of gift certificates.
“I presented in my poster the relationship between consumer rights and the digital age, especially now that people are able to buy various products through the use of social media, and other online sites and applications,” Vidal said.
Jesus Angelo Yabut from Maliwalo High School in Tarlac placed second with P15,000 cash prize and P3,000 worth of gift certificates while Jamilyn Mila from New Cabalan High School in Olongapo City took home the third spot and received P10,000 cash and P1,500 worth of gift certificates.
The Department of Trade and Industry holds the regional contest annually to “provide an avenue where participants can communicate their concepts on how to strengthen, promote and increase awareness of consumer rights through arts.”
