IATF to SBMA: Enforce age restrictions strictly in Subic freeport or else…
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority chair and administrator Wilma Eisma said she received orders from the government task force on Covid-19 to strictly enforce age restrictions within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
“Yesterday, the head of the IATF Regional Task Force visited Subic Bay Freeport (SBF) and advised us to strictly implement age restrictions as provided by the IATF,” she said in a Facebook post.
The pandemic task force initially relaxed the age restrictions from 15 to 65 years old from 10 to 65, until President Rodrigo Duterte overturned the decision to let children aged 10 to 14 to be allowed outside their homes.
Eisma said the IATF regional task force head “had an ocular inspection and made it very clear that should we fail to do this, SBF as a whole will suffer consequences that will affect our economic recovery.”
“Please do not shoot the messenger. We will very much appreciate your cooperation,” Eisma said.
Earlier, the SBMA requested the IATF to exempt the Subic Bay Freeport Zone from age restrictions related to the pandemic.
