House eyes National Sports Traning Center in Clark
The House of Representatives is pushing for the establishment of a National Sports Training Center (NSTC) in Clark Green City to become the home and training venue of the country’s national sports teams.
THE NSTC is also eyed to be the center for sports science and research development of the Philippines.
It will house facilities and amenities for 32 Olympic sports and other non-Olympic sports.
The Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Institute of Sports will be transferred to the NSTC.
Compostela Valley 2nd District Representative Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, a principal author of the bill, said the present training centers like the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex’s facilities have become obsolete.
Gonzaga added its unfavorable location in the heart of Manila isn’t conducive to the training and wellbeing of athletes.
