Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton received a P2-million funding from the Department of Interior and Local Government for a road project in the municipality.

Provincial Director Myra B. Moral-Soriano handed the check to Inton on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by Hermosa officials on Tuesday.

According to Inton, the check is part of the Performance Challenge Fund 2017 and will be used for the improvement of the Culis-Tama Road Project.

The Performance Challenge Fund for Local Government Units (PC Fund) is an incentive fund to local government units (LGUs) in the form of counterpart funding to high-impact capital investment projects in the Annual Investment Program. It is funded out of the 20 percent Local Development Fund consistent with national goals and priorities.

The program seeks to rationalize national government intergovernmental transfers to LGUs, and encourage alignment of local development initiatives with national government development agenda and priorities.
