Governor Yap remains unnerved, answers criticisms against New Clark City
News alert! Tarlac Governor Susan Yap has released a very important statement on the New Clark City (NCC) project.
Fears have reached the governor’s office that with the rising of the new metropolis, Aeta communities in Tarlac would be displaced. The governor shrugged off the criticism, saying that out of the 9,450 hectares allotted for NCC, only 3,500 hectares would be developed. The rest of the land area would serve as green and open spaces for upland farming and forest reserves.
She remained very supportive and ecstatic of the project—claiming that it might solve the congestion problem in Manila given that NCC would be able to provide jobs and livelihood opportunities to many Filipinos, especially Tarlaqueños, and even prioritizing Aetas for employment.
Extensive research has been done for the success and sustainability of NCC including dialogues with all stakeholders so there is nothing to worry about as per the governor’s statement.
“We should not be myopic now that development is already right at our doosteps,” Governor Yap said.
