Gov Umali appears for modified ECQ in Nueva Ecija
CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The Nueva Ecija Inter-Agency Task Force (NEIATF) has requested that the province be placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) instead of general community quarantine (GCQ) starting May 16.
Governor Aurelio Umali, in his message aired over a local television station here on Thursday, said they sent the letter of appeal to the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) after consultations with different sectors, including local executives and front-line agencies.
Being under modified ECQ instead of GCQ, he added, will help prepare the community, government, and hospitals.
As of May 12, this province has recorded 47 positive Covid-19 cases, with three deaths, while 26 others have fully recovered. (PNA)
