Gov Pineda slams hospital over death of baby
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda blasted a local hospital for alleged lapses that led to the death of a seven-month-old baby.
The Pampanga politiko slammed the medical personnel of the Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) face-to-face for their alleged failure to provide appropriate medical attention to the baby admitted last June 19.
The baby was confined at ERDH for four days before being transferred to Jose B. Lingand Regional Memorial Hospital (JBLRMH) where he eventually died due to complications.
Pineda said the medical personnel failed to recognize the baby was experiencing complications and failed to act accordingly.
“I am not a doctor but I (know) for the last 30 years of assisting the poor, I have little knowledge of certain diseases, you should admit that you have lapses on this incident,” she said.
