Gov Pineda to Aetas, CDC: Settle feud ASAP
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda is mediating the feud between Aetas and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) over an ancestral domain agreement.
The Pampanga politiko led the meeting between Aeta tribal leaders and the CDC to clarify concerns over the joint management agreement on ancestral domain in Clark.
An Aeta tribal leader earlier slammed the CDC for not seeking consent from the Aeta community before pursuing quarrying operations in the area.
The quarry operations in the area have been temporarily suspended while discussions are ongoing.
“The joint management agreement on the area should be made clear along with the implementing rules and regulations. We need to settle this immediately as vital infrastructure projects there are being affected,” Pineda said.
Pineda added there is a need to ensure if the Aeta community is benefitting from the quarry operations.#
