Gov. Alvarado swears into office 4K incoming SK officials in Bulacan
Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy–Alvarado has underscored the role that the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) will play in improving the country.
“Sa kasalukuyang panahon, ang Sangguniang Kabataan ang magiging lunduyan ng pagbabago upang muling magningning ang matingkad na sining at sinag ng mga kabataan at tanglawan ang lipunan na nababalot ng kadilimang likha ng samu’t-saring karamdamang kanyang tinataglay,” said Alvarado, who administered the oath of office of some 4,000 newly-elected SK officials in Bulacan Wednesday, June 27.
The “Sabayang Panunumpa sa Tungkulin ng mga Bagong Halal na Sangguniang Kabataan” was held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.
Alvarado also said that the youths now are fortunate because they can have free education in college.
“Mapalad po kayo sa panahong ito, malaya na ang mga kabataan hindi tulad noon. Libre na ang edukasyon, mula elementarya, sekondarya, tertiary, public colleges and universities sa buong bansa na kung saan ito po ay kasama na sa saligang batas,” he said.
A total of 112 state universities and colleges, and 78 local universities and colleges nationwide offer free education under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
