Ginamot na, may trabaho pa! Gov Pineda promises jobs to drug reformists
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda vowed to provide employment and livelihood assistance to drug surrenderees who recently graduated under the “Dalan Ning Pamagbayu” (Road to Change) program of the provincial government.
At least 1,000 of the graduated reformists belonged to the 22,813 drug users and pushers who have surrendered to the police since July 2016.
The reformists underwent rigorous training, treatment and rehabilitation under the Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA) before they were given certificates of completion by the provincial police office.
The reformists can use their TESDA certificates to apply for jobs.
“Road to Change” is a Pampanga provincial government project that supports the mandate of President Rodrigo Duterte to curb illegal drug use in the country.
