Geraldine Roman pushes for a patriotic label for locally produced rice

Oct 8, 2019 @ 13:02

Bataan first district representative Geraldine Roman does grocery shopping herself.

Aside from enjoying the activity, she makes it a point to check the current prices of commodities. In one of her recent grocery runs at Savemore Dinalupihan, she noticed that the price of rice has skyrocketed. They all have the label “Special Rice Local” but have different prices. The label particularly grabbed the interest of the congresswoman whose Filipino Farmers First Act is pushing for all locally produced rice to be labeled “Taas Noo, Filipino.”

What do you think about the current status of rice in the Philippines?
